在现代汉语中,“房屋”是一个常用词,表示住人或存放东西的建筑物的总称。约在中唐以前,“房”“屋”二字尚未凝固为复音词,二者所代表的事物表象是不同的。“房”最早指厢房;“屋”在《易经》中有三个义项:1.屋顶;2.屋檐;3.房屋。约至西汉,“房”与“屋”的语义渐趋一致,成为同义词。约至中唐,“房”“屋”二字连用,凝固成为一个平等联合式的复音词。
In modern Chinese, “house ” is a term commonly used to refer to buildings that house or store things. Around the middle of the Tang Dynasty, the words “room” and “house” have not yet solidified into polysyllabic words, and the representations of the two represent different things. “House ” the first refers to the wing; “House ” in the “Book of Changes” has three meanings: 1. Roof; 2. Eaves; 3. Housing. About to the Western Han Dynasty, “room ” and “house ” semantics gradually become synonymous. About to the Middle Tang Dynasty, “room ” “house ” the word used, solidified into an equal joint polyphony.
