This paper introduces the basic principles and types of Network Address Translators (NATs), summarizes several uses of NATs and their application status, and analyzes the application limitations of NATs. This paper discusses the compatibility between NAT and several network security protocols, analyzes the coexistence issues with IPSec protocol and gives the solutions.
