在中山人的血液中,流淌的是创新的活性因素。这里不仅诞生了民主革命的先驱孙中山,近代的中山人还创建了中国现代百货业的先驱:四大百货公司——先施公司、永安公司、新新公司、大新公司。改革开放以来,中山人又创造了多个全国第一——第一个种粮万元户、第一家中外合作的旅游宾馆、第一个高尔夫球场、东南亚地区规模最大的游乐场等等。1990年,在“发展高科技,实现产业化”的感召下,中山火炬高新区正式挂牌成立。在这座具备创业与创新传统的城市,发展高新技术产业的潜力可谓巨大。创新创业二十年,中山火炬高新区不断实现着飞跃,书写着辉煌:2009年实现生产总值226.1亿元,工业总产值900.5亿元,出口创汇52亿美元的骄人成绩,各项经济指标稳居全市第一。带着对中山火炬高新区骄人业绩的赞叹,记者一行走进了中山火炬高新区……
