地处长江与清江交汇处的宜都市,长江穿城而过,焦柳铁路纵贯南北,东引江汉平原,西控长江三峡出口,素有鄂西门户之称。在这片向积1357平方公里的土地上,全市公安民警发扬“团结、高质、公正、廉洁、实干、为民”的宜昌公安精神,在市委、市政府和上级公安机关的领导和广大人民群众的大力支持下,坚持以正面典型引导队伍,以严格纪律约束队伍,以教育培训提高队伍,以高尚的活动激励队伍,以有力的保障凝聚队伍,公安队伍建设取得了可喜的成绩。94年、95年,先后荣获“全国优秀公安局”和“全省先进公安局”,有3名同志荣获“全国优秀人民警察”光荣称号,96年被枝城市委、市政府授予“最佳义明单位”,95年至98年上半年有53人次获省公安厅或宜昌市公安局表彰,17个集体荣获二、三等功,有27名个人荣立二、三等功。近年来,我们紧紧围绕服务和服从于经济建设这个中心,以公安改革总揽全局,坚持“从严治警,强化治本”的指导思想。积极探索新形势下公安工作的新路子,团结求实,开拓进取,完善机制,强化管理,自我加压,注重实效,全面推动了各项公安业务工作。
