Hypertension is a common chronic disease, but also the most important risk factor for cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases. Essential hypertension is a complex disease caused by the combined action of multiple genes and environmental factors, but the exact pathogenesis is still unclear. With the deepening of research, the role of epigenetic factors such as DNA methylation in the pathogenesis of essential hypertension has gradually been taken seriously. This article summarizes the progress of research on DNA methylation in some essential hypertension-related genes and describes the relationship between DNA methyl markers and essential hypertension that may be affected by environmental factors, and further understand the relationship between hypertension Pathogenesis.
