贵州苗装精华应当说是银饰。苗、瑶、侗、水等民族都很看重银饰,尤以苗族为甚。家境富裕者,在节日集会上身穿银衣,头戴银冠,重量可达二三十斤。苗族银饰多为本族工匠所制,设有专门的加工作坊,不少地方还有“银匠村”,祖祖辈辈以制作银饰为业。这些名不见经传的民间艺人,与千千万万目不识丁的苗家妇女,在特定环境中,继承发扬着苗族服饰的传统技艺,使这些闪闪发光的艺术精品,成为研究贵州苗族历史与文化的珍贵文献。2000年11月,笔者赴贵州
