OBJECTIVE: To analyze the effect of extended nursing service after discharge in elderly hypertensive patients. Methods: A total of 120 elderly hypertensive patients who were treated and discharged in our hospital from 2013 to 2014 were randomly divided into control group and observation group of 60 cases. Patients in control group were only given systematic health education during hospitalization. Patients in observation group On this basis, the one-year extended post-discharge nursing service was compared with the treatment compliance, blood pressure compliance rate and rehospitalization rate in both groups. Results: The blood pressure compliance rate and treatment compliance in the observation group were significantly better than those in the control group, and the rate of re-hospitalization was significantly lower (P <0.05), which was statistically significant. CONCLUSION: Continuing nursing services for discharged elderly hypertensive patients can effectively improve the treatment compliance of the elderly patients, make them develop good habits, effectively control blood pressure and improve their quality of life.
