Nanfang Hospital of Southern Medical University was founded in August 1941 and moved to Guangzhou in 1980. It was originally the First Affiliated Hospital of the First Military Medical University of the Chinese People’s Liberation Army. In August 2004, according to the decision of the State Council and the Central Military Commission, the hospital was transferred to Guangdong Province with the First Military Medical University as a whole and changed its name to Nanfang Hospital of Southern Medical University.
