作为民国时期“国立中央图书馆”首任馆长和台北故宫博物院首任院长,蒋复璁的一生与中国文博事业之间有着密切关联。某种程度上,蒋复璁可谓中国文博史的见证者、参与者和亲历者。由于时代原因所致,蒋复璁1949年之后的活动舞台主要在台湾岛内,包括前期疏运“国立中央图书馆”藏书抵台、主持“中央”图书馆在台复建和后期担任故宫博物院院长一职长达18年之久,对于台湾20世纪下半叶的文博事业以及保存、维护、发扬中华文化都有着重要贡献。
