孟子的仁政学说具有一定的合理性,其论证逻辑性也较强.但是,孟子与梁惠王在谈话中未注意谈话技巧,薄人厚己,说话太过直接,把理想当现实,在自己与梁惠王之间划下了一道心理鸿沟;且其观点未考虑战国时期战乱频仍的社会现实及魏国的形势.因此,其学说被认为“迂远而阔于事情”,最终未被采纳.
