为了保证今年生产1070万吨钢的任务胜利完成,我们不仅要用“洋”铁炼钢,而且还要用大量含硫磷高、含矽锰低的“土”铁炼出合格的钢。这是一项光荣的政治任务。我厂自8月份起已经开始试用土铁炼钢,自10月5日起又进行了化铁炉采用碱性炉衬的试验。根据几次的试验情况来看,脱硫效果良好,一般能去硫30～60%。但是也随之而带来了一些困难,如炉子寿命较短、操作较困难等。我们认为,这些困难,都不是克服不了的,现正在积极采取措施。现仅就初步试验的情况简单介绍如下。

This is a glorious political task. Since August, our factory has started trial soil iron steelmaking. Since October 5, it has carried out the test of using alkaline lining for iron furnace. According to several test situation, the desulfurization effect is good, generally can desulfurization 30 ~ 60%. However, it also brings some difficulties, such as short life of furnace and difficult operation. In our opinion, these difficulties are not overcome. We are now taking active measures. Now only the preliminary test situation is briefly described below.
