“英语学习从小学生抓起”在亚洲各国成了一场教育界的“运动”。韩、日两国将英语列为小学3年级以上学生的必修课程。我国2001年提出,英语课程开设应从小学3年级开始,而非中学1年级。但也有不少学者对这一做法提出质疑。有学者提醒说,世界上还没有哪个国家的小学教学大纲对学生学习外语应达到的水平作出规定。也有学者主张中学外语教育才是重点,而在“临界期”尚不明确的情况下,就在幼儿和儿童中开设外语课,究竟是有助于他们能力的开发,还是摧残他们的能力,实在值得考虑。还有学者呼吁,如果小学外语教学的师资问题解决不了,让一些
