粟灰螟是我县谷子的主要害虫,尤其是对春谷为害更烈。苗期钻蛀茎秆,出现大量枯心苗,造成严重减产或绝收;后期为害造成白穗或倒折,严重影响产量的提高。一般年份,我县因粟灰螟为害,谷子废弃毁种面积10%左右,减产15—20%;严重年份,废弃毁种面积达25%,减产达70%。近几年来,我县广大贫下中农遵照毛主席关于“人们为着要在自然界里得到自由,就要用自然科学来了解自然,克服自然和改造自然,
