To clarify the prevalence of cerebral palsy among twin children and their association with cerebral palsy, a current status survey of children aged 0-6 years was conducted in seven cities in southern Jiangsu from May to July 1997. The results showed that the prevalence of cerebral palsy in twin fetuses was 974 ‰ (95% confidence interval, 615% ~ 1333%), which was 64 times that of single fetus (95% confidence interval, 44 ~ 9 3). If grouping by actual measurements of birth weight, the prevalence of cerebral palsy in the low birth weight twins is lower than the single birth weight in the same birth weight group, whereas the prevalence of cerebral palsy in the normal birth weight twins is higher than in the corresponding single fetuses ; According to the standard deviation of normal group, the prevalence of bipolar cerebral palsy in all birth weight groups were higher than that of single fetus, and with the birth weight increased the risk of cerebral palsy in twin fetuses increased risk. Tip twins are independent risk factors for cerebral palsy and twins cause the risk of cerebral palsy increased with the maturity of the fetus
