Patriarchal religions in ancient China were notable for their uniqueness and showed very different characteristics from those of other religions in the world. Through the interpretation of the content of The Book of Songs, we can see some sprouts reflected in the transition from the primitive faith in our country to the religion of patriarchal clan, so as to provide some explanations for the emergence of religion in ancient patriarchal clan. From the buds of primordial belief in The Book of Songs, we can see that the patriarchal religion in ancient China was highly coincident with the patriarchal clan system of the country and was characterized by strong rationalization and secularization. Therefore, it did not have the typical features of Western religions. From the original buddhism in The Book of Songs, we can also see the inevitability of the split between patriarchal religion and folk religion.
