Following the implementation of shore power alternative diesel engine power plan by port of call in Los Angeles Harbor, the EU is also preparing to implement this plan in order to reduce the environmental pollution in the port area. This article describes the EU proposal of berthing vessels using shore power instead of diesel power program and its cost-benefit analysis.
