刘开渠先生是于1953年2月来到北京的。来前,他是杭州中央美术学院华东分院(原杭州艺专)院长和杭州市副市长,周恩来总理点头调他来参加人民英雄纪念碑建设工作。
Mr. Liu Kaiqu came to Beijing in February 1953. Before coming, he was Dean of East China Branch of Hangzhou Central Academy of Fine Arts (formerly Hangzhou Arts College) and Vice Mayor of Hangzhou. Premier Zhou Enlai nodded him to participate in the construction of Monument to the People’s Heroes.
