“满铁”从1906年成立到1945年解体,在近40年的时间里,由几千人发展成拥有50万员工的日本最大的海外殖民机构,其殖民地经营领域之广泛、经营规模之庞大,都是当时罕见的,并且拥有为数众多的调查机构,它在经济、政治等方面,对中国近现代史和中日关系历史的发展均产生了极为重要的影响。因此,满铁遗留下来的照片,对研究满铁和中日关系史具有非常重要的史料价值。
