“Malaysia International Art Fair ” was founded by Mr. Shen Zhechu in 2007, when there was no such art fair in Malaysia, which is a great event for the local arts community. However, at the same time, most of the people in the industry have questioned the feasibility due to the gloomy environment of domestic art appreciation and collection. Therefore, it is also relatively difficult to obtain official and corporate sponsorship. Therefore, sponsor Shen Zhechu, with his personal love for art and the determination to rejuvenate the local gallery industry, is propping up the first Malaysian Art Fair with his personal financial resources. In the ensuing three years, the Malaysian Art Fair received more and more attention with a focus on the local community and attracted more international art organizations. In the fourth edition of “Ma Yibo” held in 2010, the total sales volume of the live works of the International Gallery was RM11 million, up 200% from the first edition, breaking the previous “Ma Yi Bo ”transaction record. And there will be 55 galleries from 20 countries participating in the 5th Malaysia Art Fair, which will be opened on October 28, 2011.
