The authors reported 154 drug-induced biochemical abnormalities in 154 (75%) of 204 hospitalized patients receiving furosemide (122 men and 82 women, mean age 69.6 years). The average number of anomalies per patient was 3.04. 71% of these biochemical abnormalities are specific or may be caused by furosemide. The most common abnormalities associated with furosemide are: 40% of hypochlorosis, 40% of hyperuricemia, 28% of hyponatremia, 28% of hypercapnia, 27% of hypokalemia, and hypocalcaemia 21 % And hypoglycemia 20%; 26% (52/199) of the patients with drug-induced hyperkalemia. The incidence of biochemical abnormalities induced by drugs is directly proportional to patient age, impaired renal function, number of dosing and dose of furosemide, and is inversely proportional to body weight. When receiving furosemide fill
