本文试图从人类境遇的荒谬、个体生命的绝望和生存意义的失落三个方面解读菲茨杰拉德的短篇小说《重访巴比伦》的深刻主题:20世纪人类生命的悲歌。菲茨杰拉德的小说在其深层的文化意义上,是关于现代人类历经浩劫之后的生存境遇和精神状态的思考。从他的作品中我们感受到了一种深刻的人类境遇的荒谬,在剖析美国社会现实的同时,也赋予我们一个审视当代世界的全新视角。
This article attempts to interpret the profound theme of Fitzgerald ’s short story “Revisiting Babylon” from the absurdity of humankind, the despair of individual life and the loss of existence meaning: the sad song of human life in the 20th century. In his deep cultural sense, Fitzgerald’s novels reflect on the living conditions and mental state of modern humans after the catastrophe. From his works, we have felt a profound absurdity of the human condition. While analyzing the reality of American society, we also give us a brand-new perspective on the contemporary world.
