少年儿童是祖国的明天与未来,对少年儿童进行素质教育是关系整个民族素质和国家前途的大事。作为社会教育的场所,博物馆教育既可以弥补学校教育的不足,又能够拓展学校教育的内涵,起到其它形式无法替代的作用。近几年来重庆中国三峡博物馆从多个方面作了一些尝试性的探索,不断创新服务教育方式,但在对少年儿童教育工作开展的同时,还要注意加强统筹性、规范性、目的性与社会需求相结合。博物馆作为社会公益文化机构,应该成为少年儿童的第二课堂,成为素质教育基地。
