2011年5月6日,株洲市成为湖南省首个启动“公共自行车租赁系统”的城市。随后,一辆辆印有“动力之都,绿色出行”字样的黄绿相间的公共自行车出现在株洲街头。在株洲市街头每隔300～500米,就有一个公共自行车租赁点,黄绿相间的自行车醒目地停在停车柱内;在大街小巷,公共自行车迅速成为株洲市民出行的必备工具,每个市民都感受到公共自行车带来的实惠和快乐;公共自行车俨然成为了这座城市的名片和靓丽风景。
