Well, hundreds of Greensboro children will be looking their best when they go back to school tomorrow thanks to dozens of local 1)barbers and stylists.
Quan Barrett (Parent): I just think it’s nice, you know they really didn’t have to do it, but they did do it for the kids, and I’m glad.
About 50 2)cosmetologists and barbers donated their time today to give 350 children a new look for the first day of school, and they did it all for free. Influence Hair Care Company and Leon’s Beauty College teamed up with the hair styling pros to make sure kids from low-income families could be proud of the way they looked when they show up for school.
Wilbert Artis (Leon’s Beauty College): There’s somethin’ about how a child feels when they look good. And, when you see a child go out of here lookin’ good and feeling good, they go ’bout, they have a different attitude about themselves, and that’s the most important thing, ’cause when they feel good, they do good.
And I bet our stylists and barbers felt pretty good today too, ’cause they did very well. This marked the 6th year all those groups got together to help our local children.
