对四个春播葵花和一个夏播葵花品种进行了开花习性观察。一个头状花序从开始开花至结束,约需7—12天,而以第3—5天开花数最多。一天中都在5∶30—6∶00开始开花,6∶00—6∶30开花最多。6∶30—8∶00开花很少,其他时间基本上不开花。6∶30—7∶00聚药雄蕊开始散粉,8∶00—10∶00散粉最盛,此后很快减少。结实部位影响到种子生活力,头状花序外圈的筒状花结实率最高,瘦果百粒重最大,发芽势和发芽率最好,应从这个部位上采收瘦果留种。
