After experiencing the failure of Chirac in the presidential election, French Prime Minister Barratheir did not withdraw from the political arena. He is still active in the parliamentary forum and is one of the key figures defending the Republican Alliance. Earlier, in order to get the French economy out of the long-term downturn, he commissioned experts from the “Reform Association” to carry out a comprehensive comparative study of the unemployment rate and the social security system in the member countries of the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development. Based on this research, he proposed a series of bold reforms on taxation, pensions, labor law and minimum wage.
