银杏,中国的瑰宝,是960万平方公里文明古国的象征,也是斗转星移、华夏沧桑的佐证。自从人类文明的开始,银杏就以她的参天雄伟、古雅典朴、秀丽清奇和楚楚多姿而被用来点缀庙庵寺院,美化庭园行道。随着当今科学技术日新月异的发展,人们越夹越多地探究到银杏的奥秘,尤其是银杏种实对人类健康的营养作用与医药作用,使银杏种子在国际市场上供不应求,炙手可热,从而开始发展银杏果材两用和以果为主的栽培。多年来大量研究结果表明,银杏不同的栽培方式仅反映了各自的主要经济栽培目的及初步利用,实际上,作为我国独占鳌头的银杏国际市场远不能反映出银杏固有的科学价值、社会价值和经济价值。如对银杏的各个器官及其不同部分中营养物质和药用物质不断开发并加以充分利用,使之造福于人类,则将会产生不可估量的社会效益和经济效益。
