[Objective] To establish a method for predicting oxygen uptake of physical activity suitable for adolescents. [Methods] Eighty adolescents were randomly divided into 60 formula groups and 20 validation verification groups, with half in each group. The formula group was moved on the treadmill at speeds of 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8 km / h and the load of each level continued for 2.5 min. The validation group was back at the speed of 4.8, 6.3 and 8.1 km / Venue movement, each load lasts 10 min. Gas metabolic parameters and heart rate were measured in two groups of adolescents under different exercise regimens. The formula group uses the statistical method to establish the oxygen uptake prediction equation, and uses the generation verification group measurement result to carry on the back-substitution test. The measured values of oxygen uptake at the speed of 4, 6 and 8 km / h in the formula group are compared with those of the established formula and the recommended formula of the American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM). [Results] A regression equation was established for the prediction of oxygen uptake rate. Male: oxygen uptake (mL / min) = 17.24 × load heart rate + 8.76 × lean body mass (kg) -1288.22; 18.72 × load heart rate + 5.61 × lean body weight -1588.79. The average relative error of predicted oxygen uptake was <10%, while the standard error (SE) and overall error (E) were both lower than the ACSM formula. [Conclusion] The multivariate regression equation predicting oxygen uptake based on load heart rate and lean body mass as independent variables is more accurate than the formula recommended by ACSM and is more suitable for the prediction of oxygen uptake of physical activity in adolescents in China.
