1.长江流域两熟棉区占全国棉田三分之一,小麦棉花两熟为该棉区的主要栽培制度。通过研究肯定了改变群众习惯小麦撒(点)播为宽窄行或宽幅条播方式,为克服两熟间作矛盾的基本关键,从而 可以加强麦田管理,实行棉花春耕施基肥、条播、及时间苗等一系列的技术改进措施,增加两熟产量。根据1951—1952年在湖北主要棉区内26处麦棉条播方法(小麦宽窄行条播)与群众习惯撒(或点)播对比示范结果,小麦每亩平均增产11.29斤(或8.39%);棉花每亩平均增产17.23斤(或16.58%)。目前这一技术措施已在各地广泛推行,取得良好成效。一般小麦宽窄行条播,两行麦的窄行距(或宽幅的播幅)以5—7寸,宽行距(或宽幅的幅距)以13—15寸为合适。在较肥的地可採用连种三行(窄行距各5寸)麦後隔一宽行(宽行距1尺),棉花行距2尺;在较瘦的地上可採用连种两行(窄行距5寸)麦後隔一宽行(宽行距1尺),棉花行距1.5尺。 2.本地区一般麦棉播种时期,从清明开始到小满止,先後拖长一个半月。据1955年在武昌试验结果:自清明起播种较早的表现结果较好,生育快,成熟早,产量高。清明播种的比谷雨播种的每亩增产籽棉5.72斤(或2.23%),比立夏增产21.52斤(或8.38%),比小满增产33.75斤(或13.15%)。根据武昌历年气象记载及1955年观测结果:本地清明时地温度在12℃以上,?
