沟洫工程(包括等高沟、品字沟、鱼鳞坑等),是一种重要的水土保持治坡工程,其作用大小,同开挖断面是否合理和沟与沟的间距有很大关系.沟洫工程的断面开挖过大,浪费劳力;开挖过小或开挖不当,容易淤满,或被冲毁,不但失去蓄水拦沙、促进林木生长的作用,而且可能造成更大危害.如上游一条沟洫工程溃决,下游数条沟洫工程往往也会被冲毁,把大量拦蓄的泥沙雨水汇集在一起冲向下游,很容易发展成沟蚀或造成崩岗.现将广东省肇庆地区等高沟洫工程修建和计算方法介绍如下:
