2002年12月下旬至2003年1月上旬,哈密地区出现1958年以来最罕见的低温降雪天气,最低气温降到-28.9℃。-26℃以下的气温持续9天,-20℃以下气温持续25天。果树遭受历史上最严重的冻害,果农蒙受巨大经济损失。经过调查,全地区现有果树冻害面积占果树总面积的47.1%。
From late December 2002 to early January 2003, the haze area experienced the most rare low temperature snowfall since 1958, with the minimum temperature dropping to -28.9 ℃. The temperature below -26 ℃ lasts for 9 days, and the temperature below -20 ℃ lasts for 25 days. Fruit trees suffered the most serious freeze in history, farmers suffer huge economic losses. After investigation, the entire area of fruit trees frost damage area accounted for 47.1% of the total area of fruit trees.
