钻井钢丝绳悬吊着游车、大钩并通过大钩承受载荷。钻井钢丝绳在钻井工程的各项作业(如钻进、起下钻、下套管)中是承受载荷,将绞车滚筒的旋转运动转换为大钩铅直起升的直线运动并传递绞车功率的重要纽带。由于它承载大,运动和应力状态复杂,并且工作条件恶劣,所以它是钻井工程中大量消耗的器材之一。据粗略统计,平均每钻进一米就得消耗钢丝绳数公斤。尤其重要的是它的寿命直接关系到井身、设备和钻井工人的安全。因此,钢丝绳的正确选择和使用对安全钻井,降低钻井成本都有着很重要的意义。
