明矾石是一种有价值的多元素化工矿石。随着科学技术的发展,它的工业用途已从单一炼制明矾扩大到制取硫酸、钾肥(硫酸钾)、氢氧化铝、氧化铝等产品。多年来,一些国家出自对明矾石的不同需要,尤其在一些钾、硫矿产资源或冶金铝原料短缺的国家里,明矾石的综合利用受到日益广泛的重视。他们从富集矿石的角度研究明矾石矿选矿技术,以达到充分利用矿产资源的目的。 明矾石矿的选矿,目前在我国尚无工业实践,只是在近几年做了些较系统的选矿试验研究工作,目的在于尽快解决低品位原矿的利用,促进矿山的合理开发;同时为化学加工提供精料,提高工厂生产效率,以增加经济效益。
