As a third-generation cephalosporin antibiotic, cefoperazone sodium (CPZ) is the sodium salt of cefoperazone. Occasionally, it causes turbidity when it is mixed with 10% glucose infusion (10% G · S) Or white precipitation phenomenon. Cefoperazone is very slightly soluble in water with a pH value of 2.00-4.00; while its sodium salt is very soluble in water with a pH of 4.50-6.50. Therefore, it is inferred that when CPZ is mixed with 10% G · S (pH value 3.50 ~ 5.50) with a lower pH value, part of cefoperazone will be released as the pH value of the mixed solution decreases, resulting in turbidity or precipitation. The author examined the pH of 10% G · S solubility of CPZ for clinical reference.
