August 12 marks the 25th anniversary of signing the “Treaty of Peace and Friendship between China and Japan.” Since the end of last year and early this year, the topic of China-Japan relations has always been the focus of attention of all parties. Ma Li-cheng, author of the People’s Daily’s commentary, wrote: In the relations between Japan and Japan, he should “abandon the old ideas and start a new thinking.” China must “have the air of the victorious power and the great power and not be too harsh on Japan.” Uproar. The well-known scholar Yin Hong wrote that “the rapid growth of mutual dislike and hostility between the majority of the Chinese and Japanese peoples has continued unabated and unjustly hindered the long-term future of China.” China should “uphold the principle of genuine innovation Sexual nationalist thinking and great strategic determination, and actively seek the Sino-Japanese proximity at a seemingly significant price. ” The article published by Singaporean scholar Zhuo Nansheng, “Who needs new thinking,” a response among readers also strongly. It can be said that the Sino-Japanese relations affect the nerves of too many people and how China and Japan, as their neighbors, will get along with each other. This is an issue that both academics and ordinary people are concerned about. This issue of “cover story” is entitled “Can Sino-Japanese relations go beyond history” and put forward the views of several experts. The symposium was jointly organized by our editorial department and the editorial department of “World Economy and Politics” of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences.
