万象,华侨称之为永珍,是老挝人民民主共和国首都,也是该国的政治、经济和文化中心。行政区划分为市内4个区,郊区5个县,面积3267平方公里,人口约52万,华侨约8000人。 万象市位于老挝中部的河谷平原上,濒临湄公河,隔河与泰国廊开府相望,其与廊开府的边境线长约170公里。万象城始建于13世纪,赛塔提拉国王于1560年迁都万象,并修建塔銮和玉佛寺。
Vientiane, overseas Chinese call it Vientiane, is the capital of the Lao People’s Democratic Republic, but also the country’s political, economic and cultural center. Administrative divisions into four districts in the city, five suburban counties, an area of 3267 square kilometers, a population of about 520000, overseas Chinese about 8000 people. Vientiane City, located in the central plains of Laos on the plains, on the verge of the Mekong River, across the river and Thailand’s Nongkhai Province, the border with the Nong Khai province about 170 km long. Vientiane City was founded in the 13th century, the king of Sattatila moved to Vientiane in 1560 and built the tower Luang and Jade Buddha Temple.
