Objective To explore the role of heart rate (HR) and rating of perceived exertion (RPE) in the fatigue monitoring of diver during deep-sea helium-oxygen saturation diving. Methods 500m saturated submersible system was used to simulate the submerged 100m pressure environment. The pressure was 1.1 MPa, the partial pressure of oxygen was 35 ~ 52kPa, the partial pressure of carbon dioxide was less than 0.5kPa, the temperature was (31.0 ± 1.7) ℃ and the relative humidity was 76.8 ± 3.5)%. Breathing gas helium-oxygen mixture. The HR and RPE values of 18 divers were detected in 6 periods, including: (1) 1 day before entering the cabin; (2) 100 days of first day of regulation; (3) 100 m of exercise load to the peak; (4) 100 m Pressure on the first two days; (5) the first day after the capsule; (6) the seventh day after the capsule. The data obtained using SPSS 17.0 statistical paired t-test and correlation analysis. Results From the first day before feeding to the first day after reaching 100m, the HR decreased and was statistically significant (P <0.05). From the first day after extubation to the seventh day after exiting, HR increased with statistical Significance (P <0.05). The baseline RPE values after entering the cabin were significantly different from those before loading (P <0.05). In the exercise load test of 100m regulation phase, the HR and RPE changes were consistent, and the difference between the data measured at the peak value and the baseline value reached 100m on the same day was statistically significant (P <0.05). The diver’s RPE value was highly correlated with HR (r = 0.734, P <0.01). Conclusion HR and RPE can be used as indicators of body fatigue during deep-sea helium-oxygen saturation diving.
