水土保持专业的“工程水文计算”课程教学不仅具有概念抽象、实践应用性强及相关知识多等普遍特点,还具有侧重中小型水利水保工程、学生专业基础相对薄弱、学习要求相对较低等特点。教师在教学环节中,采用野外课程实践和课堂教学相结合的方法,围绕水利水保工程规划设计与管理等对水文计算要求这一中心,加强课程基础知识学习,培养学生实践能力,并采用现代多媒体技术的图、声和动画制作等手段改进课堂教学方法,使学生在有限的学时内能更深层次地掌握及运用“工程水文计算”课程。
