3Com Corporation and Samsung Electronics announced on February 29 that they will jointly provide cdma2000 high-speed wireless networks to service providers worldwide. The two companies agreed to integrate their solutions into a high-speed wireless data and voice network to provide Internet, Intranet and multimedia services to mobile users. The 3rd generation (3G) networks initially offered by 3Com and Samsung will be able to provide various mobile data services at speeds up to 144 Kbps, scheduled for commercial service later this year.
