The majority of English learners can make use of the authenticity and timeliness of the English newspaper language to improve their English reading ability and understand the cultural background of English-speaking countries. By analyzing the advantages of English newspapers and periodicals in improving college students’ English reading ability, this essay puts forward effective reading methods.
