当前,我国的大多数作家是没有自己的经纪人,而出版社大多等着作者主动上门,出版经纪人队伍还有待发展完善。出版经纪人的存在形式有文化工作室或文化公司、版权代理公司等具备出版经纪功能的机构和个人,具有出版经纪功能的网络稿件交易中心,真正意义上的出版经纪人。积极推动出版经纪人行业组织的建立和发展,有助于推动中国规范出版市场健康有序地发展。
