《编辑学刊》1989年第3期登载了杨祖希先生的《类型论——编辑学所固有的理论之一》一文,作者认为:编辑学的研究对象在只有印刷媒介的前提下,应是出版物。随着各种非文字传播媒介的出现,出版物这一概念不足以概括编辑学的对象,因此提出广义的编辑学研究对象应改为著作物。如文中所说:“编辑学的研究对象,是编辑学中的类型论赖以建立的基础。古代的出版物只有图书一种,现代的出版物则以图书门类最多,数量最大,保存时间最长,所以习惯上所说的编辑学,只是指图书编辑学。……但随着科学文化的发展,现今的出版物已经不再以图书为限。报纸刊物,乃至音像制品都
