欧·亨利是世界著名短篇小说家,其作品引起文艺批评界的广泛关注。然而,大部分研究都是从文学角度出发,而从语言学视角的研究显得不足。本文尝试运用定量与定性相结合的方法,通过建立欧·亨利短篇小说选集语料库(COHSSS),分析描述性形容词在小说主题表达和人物塑造中的作用。 Europe · Henry is a world famous short story writer, his works aroused widespread concern of literary critics. However, most of the studies are from the perspective of literature, while the research from the linguistic perspective is not enough. This article tries to use the combination of quantitative and qualitative methods to analyze the role of descriptive adjectives in the theme expression and figure creation through the establishment of COHSSS.
