Development of subunit vaccines against human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) requires the identification of immunologically relevant antigens and the availability of suitable antigen delivery methods. Vaccine formulations should contain epitopes that have neutralizing activity, the major neutralizing region (PND) of HIV-1,
