根据甘肃省黄土高原区农耕期和喜温作物安全生长季的热量资源，此区可划分为二年三熟小麦、玉米适宜生长区；一年一熟小麦、玉米适宜生长区和一年一熟喜凉作物生长区。探讨了麦收后复种的可能性。分析了主要粮食作物的热量资源利用率和热量利用效率。提出了合理开发和充分利用热量资源的建议
