Born in 1935, Klapheck presented his early magical machines in the mid-1950s against abstract and non-formal tunes, including typewriters, sewing machines, shoe polishers, faucets, showers and fire extinguishers. When American popular art gained international victories, he was regarded as the German representative of the art. With his appearances at Sidney.Janis in New York, the price of the works went up. In 1979 NOR-BERT hired him as a professor at the Dusseldorf Art Institute, and served until now. Once a avant-garde, he became master of fine art’s classicism.
