《感动中国》年度人物评选被誉为“中国人的年度精神史诗”。获评2008年度《感动中国》的人物是:中国航天事业奠基人钱学森;香港教育界的传奇夫妻钟期荣、胡鸿烈:坚守医德的“良心医生”陈晓兰;用爱心唤醒英雄的罗映珍;被称为“湖南张海迪”的残疾人李丽;细心侍奉亡妻家人33年的河南工人谢延信;为保护群众生命财产牺牲的空军飞行员李剑英;为救落水者牺牲的年轻军人孟祥斌;党的理论传播者方永刚;国家科学技术大奖获得者闵恩泽。此外,《感动中国》还向“嫦娥一号”卫星研发团队表达了特别的致敬。
