易县位于河北省中偏西北部,属山区大县,县域面积2534平方千米,县境人口57万。易县地貌以山地和丘陵为主,地势西高东低,流水落差大。由于上述地理特点,易县自然环境缺碘,历史上碘缺乏病流行严重[1],“一代哑,二代傻,三代四代断根芽”是当时病区流传的歌谣。自九十年代中期,易县被河北省确定为缺碘地区,在普及碘盐的基础上,易县疾控部门逐步采取了一系列干预措施,保障了人群碘营养的供应,取得了显著成效。1措施
