林语堂的作品中最让人难忘的就是其塑造的性格迥异的女性形象,其中《京华烟云》是最为人树枝的作品,被誉为现代版的《红楼梦》。作品的中的姚木兰、孙满娘等女性给予了高度的同情和赞美,将自己心中的理想女性形象刻画得淋漓尽致。但是由于时代和个人的局限性,林语堂在《京华烟云》中的女性审美观不可避免地带有男权意识和不彻底的反封建性。
The most memorable feature of Lin Yutang’s works is the image of women with different personalities. Among them, “Jinghua Yumo” is the most influential piece of work and is known as the modern version of “Dream of Red Mansions.” The works of Yao Mulan, Sun Maniang and other women gave a high degree of sympathy and praise, the image of the ideal woman in his heart vividly portrayed. However, due to the limitations of the times and individuals, Lin Yutang’s female aesthetics in “The Story of the Jinghua” inevitably brings about patriarchal consciousness and incomplete anti-feudalism.
