Objective To observe the changes of some biochemical indexes and insulin sensitivity after military training of recruits for 10 weeks. Methods Ninety recruits from 2014 were randomly selected. Serum lactate, carbon dioxide (CO2), fasting plasma glucose, insulin and C-peptide levels were measured before routine military training and 10 weeks after training. Insulin sensitivity index (ISI) was calculated. Results Compared with pre-training, the blood lactate and insulin sensitivity increased, fasting blood glucose and insulin decreased (P <0.05, P <0.01). There was no statistic difference between carbon dioxide binding capacity and C-peptide military training before and after military training Significance (P> 0.05). Conclusion Conventional military training can significantly affect lactic acid, blood glucose, insulin levels and ISI, with little effect on CO 2 binding and C-peptide levels.
